Malachite is a green mineral that encourages visualisation, and is especially adept at assisting in dream recall as well as being an excellent emotional balancer. Unlike stones of the Quartz family, Malachite does not radiate energy. Instead, it absorbs energy. Because of this it is very useful for drawing out emotional negativity. This is most commonly done by placing it on the solar plexus (where many emotions are held). Malachite is also a powerful healing stone that can be placed directly on an affected area to absorb physical illness energies. If you use Malachite for the purpose of drawing out negativity, it is important to clear it after each healing session. It moves energy from the higher planes and grounds it into the green earth. Also useful in group meditations which use visualisation, it has even been known to act as a bridge for shared visions. When used in meditation or focused concentration, it brings out the true reality of the subject to the person. You will note that this stone is a team player and commonly shares space and properties with Azurite and Chrysocolla. Recorded use as far back as 4000 BC. Malachite emits a steady pulsing electro-magnetic energy. This stone contains a high copper content. On the brow, it stimulates physical and psychic vision and concentration. Egyptians used green Malachite paste for eye makeup (calling it Udju), believing that it gave them psychic protection. Malachite protects well by powerfully cleaning the auric field, rapidly absorbing undesirable energies, including computer, TV and other radiation. Placed in the 4 corners of a roo, it will serve to cleanse the carpet of toxins/gases. It also helps cleanse the body of toxins and pollutants. About 20 million years ago there was a meterorite shower in the Moldau Valley of Czechoslovakia. The result of this shower was Moldavite, a rare crystal of a bottle-green, translucent hue. Although some people believe that it is a true meteorite (formed in outer space), it is more generally believed that it originates from rock which was struck by a meteorite and melted, and combines extraterrestrial and terrestrial properties. Moldavite is generally considered to one of the stones which is very important for this particular phase of human evolution. Many people feel that at this time there are countless souls who are not originally from Planet Earth, but from the Pleiades, Sirius, Orion and other systems. It is said that no woman should be without a Moonstone, as this is the stone most tuned in to the female psyche. An abundantly fruitful stone, being a powerful assistant to fertility and child bearing. A strong emotional balancer, the Mother encourages a connection to the wisdom of the Goddess within, inspiring flexibility. Moonstone eases period pains and associated disorders, as well as assisting during child birth. All qualities related to the moonstone (sensitivity, intuition, and clairvoyance) are also connected to moonstone. When one has achieved a state of emotional calmness, this stone may be used to open people to an intuitive understanding of spirituality. An important aspect of this understanding is the acceptance and appreciation of the nature of change in physical existence - just as the moon itself undergoes constant change. When the body's vibrations are in accord with the Moonstone, it acts upon the mental and spiritual consciousness to keep the individual closer to whatever is nearest and dearest to him. Some may find that the stone brings peace and harmony, as well as a tendency towards spiritual things. It is also recommended to keep with tarot cards or runes. Though wearing moonstone as a ring is often recommended, it is equally effective in other forms of jewelry. If you want to use it as part of a meditation you can either sit and hold it in your receptive (non-dominant) hand, or, if lying down, place it on the heart, solar plexus or third eye (between the other two). For those who feel overwhelmed by their emotions, it helps to create emotional balance by harmonizing feelings with the higher self; for those out of touch with their feelings it brings them into awareness. Moonstone is also known as the "travelers stone" and can be used for protection when traveling. On a full moon the stone is said to behold prophetic and intuitive abilities. If you are on a diet, wear a charged Moonstone and reprogram your eating habits. Eat light meals with lots of steamed vegetables and fresh fruit, avoiding sugar and red meats.
