During a recent meditation in which the Kundalini energy was especially active I noticed something. I noticed that the energy seemed to know what it was doing and no matter how I tried to "help", all I did was interfere with its higher purpose. If I focused on relaxing a certain area of my body to allow the energy to move more freely, it went around the area I was focusing on. If I tried to move in a certain way, the energy would lesson in intensity. I soon realized that the best thing I could do was offer as little resistance as possible...as even my attempts to "help" seemed to thwart what was happening energetically.
Our lives are like that. There is a higher plan at work. And that plan knows exactly what it is doing. The more we try to "help" the process, the more we hinder it. For the soul to be fully embodied and expressed through you, it is necessary to "get out of the way".
When we go through life offering no resistance to the Divine plan at work, we flow effortlessly, like a twig in the current of a river. To actually live this way takes a vigilance of surrender. It is a continual process of surrender to accept whatever life brings without resisting or trying to "fix" it. This surrender comes about through total acceptance of everything, just as it is. That means acceptance of your spouse, your friends, your family, and especially yourself, right now, in this moment...total acceptance. To live in acceptance of what is, is to follow the path of least resistance. Any thought or action that implies that you need to do anything to change what is, only creates resistance within you. Resistance is at the heart of all conflict.
This does not mean that nothing gets done, or that the conditions existing in the world do not get improved upon. From the place of acceptance, offering no resistance to what is, the ego is out of the way. You will be resting in the now. From that place, you will clearly see and know what actions to take in each moment. You will not know ahead of time, because that would mean you had engaged your mind, projected out of the now and tried to alter the flow of the Divine plan by "helping" it along.
When you are resting in the now, offering no resistance to what is, you become part of the Divine energy. This is when your will and God's will become one. You will find yourself being in the right place at the right time, saying the right thing at the right time and experiencing a wonderful inner peace that comes with the absence of conflict. Remember, all conflict stems from resistance to what is, so accept what is in every moment, knowing that in this surrender you are aligning your will with God's will and becoming the path of least resistance for the Divine to flow through.
