Just how important is faith and how exactly does it work? Faith is the cornerstone of our creative power. It is the reason we are able to attain self-realization, Christ consciousness, enlightenment and expanded awareness. Faith differs from hope. When you hope, you have reservations. When you have faith, there is no question...it simply is.
The conscious mind is created to allow us to experience life as an individual. Our ability to reason, think, plan and analyze are wonderful tools and all are important in creating a meaningful life, a life that is an expression of the Divine soul within us. An imbalance occurs when we allow the conscious mind to be the totality of our experience. This is referred to as "left-brained" thinking, and it is a consequence of an excess of the masculine polarity, planetarily and individually. The world is now in the process of trying to integrate more "right-brained" feminine awareness. These are the intuitive, emotional, nurturing and creative energies within us. With faith, we can bring the energies within ourselves back to balance.
To do this, there must first be a belief. You don't have to know exactly what that belief is. Many people have some questions about God. What God is, if there even is a God, etc. We question the way of things in the world and relate that to God, resulting in even more questions. Its not important to be able to define what you believe, or to know how it works. In fact, if we think we know what God is, then we probably don't, since God is ever changing and being defined by the whole of Her parts. It is enough to know that there is a higher power that is at work in the universe. That is all that is necessary for faith to work. To have a knowing that something is at work, something we can't see and possibly can't feel, but you know its there just the same. This is the best kind of faith...faith in something regardless of your mental understanding of it. This requires true surrender and through this, even more will be revealed to you.
In holding the belief that there is something beyond you, you have opened the door to your own higher awareness. Until that door is opened by you, the Divine cannot work through you. When you have faith that something is there, something "else" that will take over if you surrender and let go of control, you are inviting God to dwell within you. He was there all along..but before you set aside the rational mind of ego, your experience of God was limited to the external world. Once you set aside the external world of ego, and allow faith to intercede when the doubts and fears crop up, you move yourself into alignment with the higher power. This is surrender and it is achieved through having faith in what you cannot see or touch.
On the spiritual path we are often told to "take a leap of faith". When we do, we find miracles happening in our lives. This is how your faith moves mountains. What may have appeared impossible happens easily when we step aside and allow the universe to bring the necessary elements into our lives. Things that we never could have imagined begin to happen for us. This is all part of the process of creating that we are here to learn. It is not our will (the ego) that can create what it wants. Rather, it is the Divine part of ourselves, the soul that yearns for completion and the healing of the body of God that comes forth when we set aside our ego and have faith in the process of growth and ascension.
Let your faith grow. Let it grow through your questions. As you ask, you will receive. Be open to receive what the universe sends...no matter what form it takes. Trust what you feel, this is your first experience of God. Sometimes called a "gut feeling", it is our feelings that lead us to uncover what we hold within. Have faith in yourself, your feelings, your abilities and your worthiness. Surrender any thoughts that are contrary to that. In total faith, allow your beauty to shine through. The mountains in your path will move aside in direct proportion to the faith you carry within.
