The second installment in our newest feature called Akashic Insights by Ms. Shaun Martinz.

Shaun uses her Master's degree in Communication to facilitate individual and group access into the Akashic Records. Information stored in the Akashic Records holds the key to who each person is and who they are meant to be, thus allowing them to integrate their soul purpose into the conscious creation of their reality.

Essentially, when you are working with karma, you are experiencing your free will and the free will of others, slowed down. It can be compared to how animation is created where a series of pictures are drawn and then moved really fast one after another to create the illusion of movement. That is a useful way to conceptualize the third dimensional time-space experience, although remember that time and space do not actually exist. Separation is an unnatural state of being in the universe that can only take place in a time-space third dimensional illusion, because in reality, nothing occurs independently. It is only in the illusion of third dimensional reality that there is a distinction between intention, action, and consequence, and that is where karma comes in.
A group of Beings got together at the beginning of this third dimensional experience and came up with the idea of karma as a useful way for people to be able to explore their free will choices more completely. The whole idea of free will is a really interesting concept and there was great interest in being able to break it down and observe it. It is important to recognize that this idea that you have that karma is beyond your control is incorrect. It is not something that happens to you. Even though you set something in motion and it comes back to you, that is still your choice, and still your creation. Karma is just an opportunity to understand another aspect of the experience. Because you are creating your own reality in every moment, then you must assume that in a previous lifetime, when you made the choices that are now playing out karmically in this lifetime, that a part of you could see the whole picture. A higher aspect of yourself was able to see both lifetimes, to see the way things were going to play out, and chose to act in the way that you did so you could ultimately have the most complete experience.
As an example, imagine that in a previous lifetime that you had a job that you absolutely adored doing. And through doing it, you became extremely wealthy and powerful. However, as a consequence of the work that you did, you took advantage of and manipulated other people, and in your mind, that was an acceptable consequence of the job. And now, in this lifetime, you do not have any money, you do not have any power and you often feel manipulated and taken advantage of. From this perspective, experiencing different aspects of a particular experience are not as penance; it is simply that you, in your desire to have to most complete third dimensional experience possible, wanted the whole experience. You wanted to understand the part with the power and the money and then the part with the no power and the no money, and to see how they fit together. Karma can be thought of as the balancing of the yin and the yang or the infinity symbol represented by the figure eight.
It would be useful for you to re-evaluate your current ideas about karma. Up until now, karma has been a wonderful way for you to play more fully in this illusion of reality, but at this point, if you are interested in moving beyond this illusion of reality, it is more useful to be in the present moment. When you are operating karmically, you are not present in the now because part of the experience that you are having is tied in the past, and part of it is tied into the future. Remember that in every moment you have everything that you need to fully engage in that moment. Anytime that you imagine that you don't, and move into to the illusion of lack and limitation, you are operating within a karmic cycle based on something that happened in that past or something that you imagine happening in the future. If you buy into the illusion that anything you do now has to do with the past or the future, or that karma is inevitable, you are missing out on the possibility of a whole new experience.
